Welcome!

Welcome to Kempsville Meadows Elementary School, a fully accredited school!

Kempsville Meadows Elementary School, in partnership with our community, cultivates student agency through rigorous and relevant learning that promotes critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, and citizenship while supporting social/emotional development.

We want every student to succeed, and we are committed to working with students to ensure that they learn and grow in a supported and enriching environment.

As an elementary school student, your child will undergo many changes during their years here. There will be new friends, new teachers, new knowledge, and a variety of opportunities.

At Kempsville Meadows, our students are at the heart of every decision. Everything we do is about ensuring their experiences here help them to develop in a caring, supportive environment with great teachers and staff at the center of the school. We have high expectations and high aspirations for every one of our students and our vision is that our students aspire to be the best they can be.

Mrs. Danielle Craven
My name is Danielle Craven and I am entering my 21st year in education. I have been married 16 years to my high school sweetheart, Gilbert, with whom I reconnected. We have a son, Paul, who is 9 years old and in 4th grade. I also have a step-daughter, Peyton, and two grandchildren, Cayde and Jenae, who live in WA state. I have spent my career in Special Education, both in Pensacola, FL for 4 years, and the remainder of that time here in VA Beach. I have taught the gamut in elementary special education: self-contained through inclusion; grades K-5; ED, LD, and ID. I was a PCST the last 6 years with OPEC. I love to read and spend time with my family, with much of that family time being spent at Scouting activities with my son’s pack since I’m the Pack Treasurer and my husband is my son’s Webelos Den Leader. I look forward to joining the KMES staff and getting to know all of you!
