The Kempsville Meadows Elementary School Library is an exciting place. It is our mission to provide technological experiences where students can learn the skills needed to become independent learners. Battle of the Books

Kempsville Meadows Elementary is participating in the 2019-2020 Battle of the Books program, which is sponsored by the Virginia Beach Public Library.

The Battle of the Books is a game show style reading competition that takes place in February.  Fifth grade students are encouraged to create teams of five to answer questions based upon ten preselected books on the public library list.  Winning teams from each preliminary event will advanced to the grand finale at the Meyera E. Oberndorf Central Library.  Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. The Battle of the Books program supports the grade 5 English Standards of Learning. Mrs. Moretz and Mrs. Vasser will be working with the teams in preparation for the battles.
